TMJ Treatment South Bend Dentist

Custom Night Guards

One of the most common treatment options for a TMJ disorder is a custom night guard. A night guard is an oral appliance that you wear while you sleep that prevents the upper and lower teeth from touching. This type of TMJ treatment is especially helpful if your condition is caused by nighttime teeth grinding and clenching.

What to Expect

In general, it’ll take two visits to our office for you to get your night guard. During your first appointment, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab that will create your night guard. When you return for your second appointment, your night guard will be ready to pick up. Our South Bend dentist will check the fit of your custom night guard to ensure it’s comfortable and make any adjustments as needed.
